We were in Minneapolis recently, visiting from Canada. I had quite a few US coins, some foreign currency and a small amount of jewelry.
After researching and reviewing sites for about 7–8-coin dealers/stores in and around Minneapolis, but close to where we were staying. I narrowed it down to Midwest Coin and Jewelry, not just because of the proximity but more importantly their reviews! We do have to trust what’s on the web sometimes and be careful of AI generated reviews.
After contacting and dealing with Shelly – the owner I felt the same sentiment many others mentioned and experienced, mine were certainly the same and all positive.
I rarely add comments to public sites, but in this case, it is well warranted.
Shelly was excellent to deal with. I found her friendly, open and honest, plus she was genuinely interested in what I had to sell, regardless of the small amount I had.
The web site for Midwest Coin and Jewelry is very easy to read/follow and was helpful.
Shelly was very accommodating to set up an appointment (needed), which was another important point for me, because I was on a very tight schedule, so I didn’t feel rushed. She analyzed and tested everything right across her desk from me, in a nice secure office, so there was no smoke and mirrors or hidden behind the counter or in the backroom kind of dealings. My stuff never left my sight. In the 40 minutes I was there, she must have fielded about a half dozen calls for items people wanted to solicit her expertise on and to meet.
She gave me top dollar for what she bought, and was very accommodating (since I was from out of country) as to payment options. It worked out great and was quite pleased with that piece as well.
I highly recommend Midwest Coin and Jewelry; it was an excellent experience. 😊

Look no further! Midwest Coin is the right place to have your items evaluated, private personable and fair. They beat the competitors appraisal, and Chelly made me feel totally comfortable and confident that this was the right place.
